Shazia Almas, Ph.D., RP (Qualifying)
Shazia Almas is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College ofRegistered Psychotherapists of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
She completed her Master's in Psychology from Pakistan and holds a PhD inPsychology from Spain, where she received distinction awards, including Cum Laude and Doctora Internacional (International Doctor) Award.
She brings extensive clinical experience in both hospital and private practice settings.Her expertise encompasses a range of mental health issues, including difficulties in emotional and behavioural regulation, depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harming behaviours, addiction, relationship-related concerns and challenges related to trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She fosters a supportive and safe environment utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and DBT Prolonged Exposure. In terms of DBT, she has been participating in the Intensive Plus training from Behaviour Tech and is actively involved in the consultation team.
In addition to her knowledge and skills, Shazia Almas is warm, grounded, and enthusiastic. She is also multilingual, enhancing her ability to connect with diverse clients.
